Three Months!

Happy three month birthday baby! We've had another amazing month with Lucy and it just keeps getting better and better. I had planned on getting a three month picture of her tonight. But, my poor baby was just absolutely exhausted. So...I just decided to take some "sleepy" three month shots. Here are a few things Lucy is now doing:

• Trying to copy what Carlos and I do. If we stick out our tongue, you can watch her try really hard to stick hers out. So much fun.
• Definitely cooing and babbling a ton. She has the sweetest little soft voice.
• Moved up to size 1 diapers and an big bottle (taking anywhere between 3-6 ounces)
• Getting better and better at holding her head up for long periods of time

Lucy and Her Daddy

Can you tell how much this Daddy loves his little girl? I'm telling y'all he is absolutely, 100% head over heals for her. I am a total Daddy's girl and I'm pretty sure Lucy will be the same. I love taking pictures of the two of them together and I think she will enjoy looking back at all of them one day. I can't even begin to express how lucky I feel that my husband is so good to me, but also that he is such a wonderful father to our sweet baby.

Lucy and Baby Lulu

When I was a little girl I had a baby named Boo-Boo. I absolutely loved Boo-Boo and still have her (colored on eyeshadow and all) in a closet in our spare bedroom. Mom said I couldn't say baby at the time so this is how Boo-Boo got her name in my own little language. That being sad, since I was my mom's baby she started calling me Boo-Boo and actually still does to this day (which I secretly still love). So as soon as I knew I was having a girl I started looking for just the right "Boo-Boo" for my baby and I finally found her. Since Lucy was born, I have called her my Lulu. So, it only seemed right to name her little baby after her just like my mom did. Baby Lulu is so soft and sweet and Lucy already loves her. I can't wait to take a picture of the two of them in a couple years when I can put Lucy's little dark hair in sweet pigtails just like Baby Lulu.

Our 5 Year Anniversary

Today marks Carlos and I's five year wedding anniversary. We were married September 25, 2004 at the Hefner Mansion (also known as the Oklahoma Heritage House) in Oklahoma City. Following the wedding, we spent our honeymoon in the Maya Riviera. It was such an amazing time in our lives and I still feel like the luckiest woman to be married to such an amazing man. And now look what we have five years later...the most beautiful baby girl. It's been a fabulous five years and I can't wait for the rest of our lives together. Love you honey.

Lucy's First Cold

You wouldn't know it by these pictures, but Lucy has caught her first cold! Of course, I cried. I know it's only a little cold, but it's so hard to hear her little stuffy nose and tiny little cough. We've had her humidifier going at bedtime and we are putting Johnson & Johnson's Vapor Bath in her bathwater...so hopefully this will pass soon. We are extremely thankful that she isn't running a fever. She's still as happy as ever and even smiles when we are using that awful booger sucker (not sure what the correct term is, ha).

I think the camera was on the wrong setting the past couple of days, because these pictures came out kind of blurry, but nonetheless still precious.

Lucy's First Birthday Party to Attend

Lucy was invited to her first birthday party for Miss Kinsey Steele. Kinsey is one of my best friend's little girls who is absolutely precious. Angie is amazing at planning birthday parties and this one was so no exception. It was themed "Breakfast at Kinsey's" (like Breakfast at Tiffany's). Everything was Tiffany blue and there were plastic diamond rings sprinkled on the tables. Every year her parties get better and better. She had all the girls wear their PJ's which was fun. The party started at 10:30 a.m., which ended up being right in the middle of Lucy's longest nap of the day. She was trying to be good, but was just too tired and couldn't sleep due to all of the other little kids being so excited at the party so we had to leave early and I didn't get any pictures of the adorable party. But, I'm glad we were able to go. I just adore Kinsey and can't believe she is already 3 years old!

Pink Sailor Dress

I was going through Lucy's closet last weekend and remembered that my mom had given me some of my old dresses from when I was a baby. So, I decided to put Lucy in this pink sailor dress and she was hamming it up! When she really smiles big she scrunches her nose up and it is the cutest thing ever. I still haven't been able to get a picture of her scrunching her nose, but hopefully I will pretty soon. I love when she gets that excited- makes me laugh every time. I decided to post a couple of Carlos and I's baby pictures as well so everyone can see who they think she looks like most. I already know the answer...her Daddy.

Bath Time

My favorite part of the day is giving Lucy her bath. She loves her baths so much now, which makes us very happy. Carlos and I usually always bathe her together and it is just such a sweet time. I love getting her out of the bath and holding her in her little towel and then putting lotion all of her and giving her her nighttime bottle. There is nothing more precious than a sleepy baby girl, smelling so sweet in her little PJ's. Ahh...I love you Lucy.

Back to Work

I am back at work as of this past Tuesday and oh my goodness was it so hard to leave my sweet Lucy. Carlos and I dropped her off at her daycare (Trinity Baptist) Tuesday morning and I was a complete wreck! I could barely talk to Lucy's little teachers I was crying so hard. Carlos and I have both been calling a few times a day to check on her and she is actually getting adjusted pretty quickly. She is starting to somewhat take regular naps and eat her normal amounts. Everyone has been telling me it will get easier and as hard as that was for me to initially imagine, it truly is. I'm progressively crying a little less and I think we are all starting to somewhat get in a routine. Now, I just look forward to getting in my car and going to get my Lulu everyday!

Rah, Oklahoma! O-K-U!

It's that time of year again! Carlos and I are so excited that it is football season. We have been going to OU football and basketball games together since our freshmen year of college, but this year will be a little different. Even though we have season tickets, we sold them this season due to a certain baby girl. And she is definitely worth it! There is something about going to the games, but I can't say that I'm completely disappointed that we will be staying at home in the nice mild temperature, eating yummy food and holding our little Sooner. Below is a picture of Lucy in her little OU onesie and tutu I made her. GO SOONERS!

Two Month Checkup

Well the day finally came where my baby got hurt and it absolutely broke my heart! Lucy had her two month checkup this afternoon and did so well the entire appointment. She let the doctor thoroughly check her over all while smiling and cooing. Then, the nurse came in to give her three shots. Lucy shrieked so loud and then did that silent bad cry that builds up until it all comes out. I've never heard her cry like that and I instantly starting crying and quickly picked her up off the examining table. The doctor and the nurses were so sweet to Lucy and gave her some pretty little red heart band-aids. I am absolutely going to die the first time some kid pushes her down on the playground or someone makes fun of her. She is my entire world and when she hurts, I hurt twice as bad.

Despite her appointment being a little rough at the end, the doctor said she was doing great. Here are her two month stats:

• Weight: 12 lbs 7 ounces (75-90%)
• Length: 24.0 inces (95%) she might be tall like her mommy :)
• Head Circ.: 15.25 inches (50%)

Five Hours!

Lucy is sleeping five hours straight people! I am so unbelievably excited and so proud of her. She is going to bed around 9:00 p.m. and sleeping until around 2:00 a.m. It usually takes around 1- 1 1/2 hours to feed her and get her back down, but then she will usually sleep for about three more hours. This is cutting out one of her feedings (which means one less time to wake up for us). Yay Lucy!

This is how I found her this morning. She wiggles herself all the way to the bottom of the crib. It cracks me up watching her little arms and legs go a million miles an hour on the monitor. She is definitely making me into more of a morning person since she is so very happy every single morning. She definitely didn't get that from me. ;)
