School Halloween Party!

Lucy's school Halloween party was on Friday and I decided just to put her in some bunny ears and a bunny tail for fear she would get her real costume dirty. All of her little friends dressed up, painted pumpkins and had cupcakes and pretzels. So much fun! I had my annual Chesapeake Halloween Party at work and somehow got talked into being the ringmaster for a "Cirque du CHK" Halloween skit so I was still all dressed up when I came to pick up Lucy. I was worried I might scare her or that she might not come to me, but she was just fine. She stared at me for a second and then when she heard my voice she came right to me. I wasn't able to go with Carlos to take Lucy to daycare Friday morning, but we left our camera with Lucy's teachers and they got some great pictures! Thanks girls.

StoryBook Forest

Wednesday night Lucy and I went to StoryBook Forest in Edmond with my parents, sister and Kaylee. Carlos and Jackson were both sick and Jason had to work. We definitely wished they could have gone with us but we still had a great time. This was the CUTEST place ever! It's held out at Arcadia Lake and they create trails through the forest and then throughout the trails there are storybook characters that you can trick or treat from. They also have hayrides, games and mini camp fires that you can roast hot dogs and make smores. Seriously, the most precious little place ever and perfect for little toddlers since nothing is scary.

As I figured, Lucy was not crazy about wearing her pig costume but thankfully my sister bribed her with some candy and that seemed to do the trick at least for a little while. She also wasn't interested in wearing her pig hooves either, so for most of the night she just wore the body of the pig costume and that's it. We'll see how she does on actual Halloween over at the Easley's house. Can't wait to dress her up again!

Wednesday night we went to Storybook Forest in Edmond and it was the CUTEST thing ever (tons of pics to come). My parents went with us and we stopped at their house to celebrate my dad's birthday before we headed that way. Preface to these pictures: Lucy didn't have her full costume on and I promise I don't have my child just wear a shirt with tights, haha! Happy Birthday Dad! You are such an amazing Dad and Papa and we all love you so very much!

School Halloween Treats

Before Lucy's bath the other night she helped me make Halloween treats for her friends and sweet teachers at baby school. Well...I should actually say, Lucy 'started' to help me make the treats. I quickly realized it wasn't the best project to have a helper on. It got messy very quickly. So, after Lucy went to bed I finished them up. Hopefully everyone can tell, but they are supposed to be little ghosts. Carlos wasn't feeling well today, so I went in to work late and was able to take Lucy to baby school (which I LOVE and wish I was able to do everyday) so we could deliver them in time for her Halloween party tomorrow. She's going to have a blast!

Birthday Dinner with Great Uncle James

Today was my Great Uncle James' birthday, so we decided to grab some burgers at Red Robbin Gourmet Burgers to celebrate. Lucy's Grammie and Papa decided to join us as well, so Lucy got plenty of lovin' all evening. We don't really eat out that often anymore...but, who really does with an independent 15 month old!?! But, Lucy was such a good girl and even told me she was a good girl (goooo-girrrr), so it must be true! My Uncle James has always been more like a Grandpa to me and I was reminded tonight that we need to get together more often. Pre-Lucy we would grab burgers (yes, it's always burgers with him) about every month or so, but those burger dates have been few and far between since I had Lucy. But, since she really does do so well at restaurants we don't have any excuses not to get together more often. Happy Birthday Uncle James!

Lucy's first 'almost shiner' she got today at baby school. She's has a pretty good cut and it's starting to bruise up a bit. Apparently, she was playing with the little kitchen at school before nap time and slipped and hit her eye on the corner. Poor baby!
