Six Months!

I can't believe my baby is 6 months old! Seriously...I need time to stop. I love, love this age! She smiles non stop, laughs so much now and just gets so excited about every little thing. She had me cracking up this morning. I was holding her and walked into our closet to pick out my clothes for work and she started kicking and laughing and reaching her arms out for my clothes. She loves being in there and she loves just looking at all of her clothes, bows and shoes in her closet too. Oh Lucy, we are going to have so much fun shopping! Happy 6 month birthday Lulu. Mommy and Daddy love you THIS much! Here is what Lucy is doing now:

• Smiling constantly. Your absolute favorite thing is to be on my hip and walk around the house so you can touch everything! You get so excited and kick your legs a million miles an hour, have both of your arms stretched out to touch anything in reach, and have the biggest smile on your face.
• Laughing all the time now and we love it!
  
• Eating oatmeal cereal and baby food. You adore your oatmeal cereal and I think you are going to be just like your Daddy and want oatmeal all the time. So far we have tried green beans, peas, carrots, squash and sweet potatoes. Of all the baby food, you definitely loved sweet potatoes the most.
• Grabbing everything with both hands.
• Sitting all by yourself. You are now sitting completely upright and as long as you don't get distracted you can stay up all by yourself for quite a while.
• You're a pretty crazy sleeper. Since you've been sick you've been waking up around 3 times a night, so we've been bringing you to bed with us usually after that second time. You can twist yourself around and you pinch and pull at our eyes and lips. We can't help but laugh (which makes you laugh) even though it's 1:00 or 2:00 a.m., but you're just too darn cute. You also talk sooo loud at night which cracks us up even more.
  
• You are talking all the time now. You've always been a pretty noisy baby; even as a newborn you grunted constantly. Now you are babbling up a storm. I think you will be a good little talker and I can't wait to have conversations with you. My favorite thing is when we lay down and I whisper to you. You focus so hard and touch my face and talk back to me. I think I tear up every time.

Merry Christmas- Part Two

I hope everyone is ready for a ton of pictures! Lucy's Grammie and Papa, Aunt Crissie and Uncle Jason, and her cousin's Jackson and Kaylee were all able to make it for Christmas today! We had such a wonderful Christmas together and I think Lucy really enjoyed her first Christmas.

Apparently I was pretty excited about Lucy's Elmo phone her aunt, uncle and cousin's got her. This has ended up being one of her favorite presents. She loves that she can hold it in her hands and push all of the buttons.

Merry Christmas- Part One

Carlos, Lucy and I had our Christmas today and then will have our big family Christmas hopefully tomorrow when everyone can make it to Norman. The roads and highways are still pretty bad (due to the 14 inches of snow and the huge snow drifts) and none of us want my mom and dad to take the chance of getting stuck again. As my ever optimistic husband told me this morning, "Just think on the positive side. We get to have Christmas spread out over several days." Which is very true and I am very thankful that everyone is safe and we will eventually get to spend Christmas together. Get ready for lots of pictures...

Oh The Weather Outside Is Frightful...

I secretly wished to have a white Christmas for Lucy's first Christmas this year, but boy did I get it! The day started off with sleet, then turned to snow and 50 mph winds and before you knew it we were in a blizzard. Lucy's Grammie and Papa left Edmond around 12:30 p.m. today and headed to our house in Norman. We had big plans for them to come spend the day and night with us and then stay all day Christmas day when my sister, Jason, Jack and Kaylee all came over. But, those plans quickly changed. They got stuck and had to turn back to Edmond, only to get stuck two more times. Carlos and I have been worried sick all day, but they finally made it home after about five hours! It is absolutely beautiful outside, but so scary. The news keeps showing how many people are stuck out there and it's absolutely horrible! I hope everyone finds a way to stay warm out there. I'm so incredibly grateful that all my loved ones are now safe at home.

Time for Baby Food...

Lucy has really started to eye our food and watch us eat every bite, so we decided it was time to bring out the baby food. We started with green beans and I wouldn't say she loved them, but she definitely ate the whole jar. It seemed like she was trying to make up her mind if she really liked them or not, but just couldn't decide. Next is peas, then carrots, squash and sweet potatoes. I can't wait to see what her favorites are!

Lucy's Laugh

Carlos is officially off work and on his Christmas break so he was able to stay home with Lucy today. They were in Lucy's room and Carlos was getting her dressed and said he couldn't figure out one of her buttons, so he was holding her dress up above Lucy when she started laughing. We have both watched this video a million times tonight and just can't get enough of it!

Christmas Parties, Lucy's First Official Babysitter and Early Christmas with Grandpa Lee

Carlos and I had two Christmas parties this weekend so we had to leave Lucy two nights in a row. We were so excited to do something "adult", but it is so incredibly hard to leave Lucy! My sister watched Lucy on Friday night and then Lucy had her first official babysitter on Saturday, named Autumn. We didn't leave until around 8:30 p.m., so we felt a lot better about leaving Lucy since she was already asleep. Then, on Sunday Carlos' dad came over to celebrate an early Christmas. Lucy loved the wrapping paper and her bear he got her. It was fun to have an early Christmas and we can't wait until Christmas day!

Lucy's babysitter, Autumn. Autumn goes to OU and works at Lucy's daycare in the afternoon's. She's such a sweet girl and is always so good with Lucy so we both felt so comfortable leaving Lucy with her. Reesie apparently really liked Autumn as well! :)

Lucy's First OU B-Ball Game!

Carlos and I are huge OU b-ball fans. In fact I think we first got season tickets our freshman year of college (11 years ago...yikes) and have been going together ever since. We haven't been able to go to a game as a family this season due to most of the games being in the evenings and Lucy going to bed around 7:00 p.m. But, today there was a game at noon so we were all able to go! We had so much fun and Lucy loved the jumbo screen and all the people. Hopefully there will be more weekend afternoon games so we can all go again!

Girls Night In

Carlos went to the OKC Thunder b-ball game tonight with some friends, so Lucy and I had a "Girls Night In" and had so much fun! I knew when I picked her up at baby school today, we were going to have such a good night. She's always in such a good mood and gets so excited when I come in to pick her up, but there are those days when I walk in and she sees me and smiles so big and kicks her little feet a million miles an hour. I swear my heart skips a beat. She really is my entire world and I can't wait for that moment every day.

Today when I walked in she was laying down playing on a little playmat. The second I leaned over her, she started smiling so big and almost squealing. Soooo stinking cute! We got in the car and had our usual little talk about our day, held hands while I drove (I know, I know. But I promise I'm careful I just have to touch her, ha!), then we talked about what we were going to do for the night and of course some "I love you so much Lulus" were definitely in there about every other sentence. Once we got home she ate cereal, took her bath and we played and played as long as you could stay awake. It was the best "Girls Night In" with my favorite girl!
