I love this video because this was the first time we were able to get Lucy's big laugh on video. Hearing her little laugh is truly the sweetest, cutest and funniest thing ever! She absolutely ADORES Reesie!

Norman Easter Egg Hunt!

Whewww...today was an event, my goodness. Norman was having their annual "Norman's Best Easter Egg Hunt" at one of the city parks today. Everything started at 5:30p.m., so I rushed to get off work, picked up Lucy and head over with my sister and Kaylee. It was so extremely windy so I was very hesitant to take Lucy, but Kaylee was incredibly excited so we gave it a shot and Lucy ended up being just fine. I was so excited to have Lucy wear a new little dress (official Easter dress still to come), but it was so cold- I had to stick and shirt under it and then at the last minute even put little pants on her. It ended up just looking like a little shirt, which was just fine. Get over it Amanda. Lucy got her picture taken with Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny, then she ate some yummy goldfish (her first time to try them and loved them) and then the Easter Egg hunt began! Lucy found a golden egg, which you could cash in for a chocolate bunny later. She was so excited and gave it to her sweet cousin Kaylee.

Then, during the hunt we met an adorable little girl named Emma and while her Mommy and I were talking she asked what Lucy's name was and when I told her- she said Lucy that has the blog and goes to Trinity? I laughed...that was us. Lulu is famous, haha. Turns out it was Miss Amy's sister- one of Lucy's teachers at Trinity. Such a small world, this is why I love Norman sometimes. Amy then saw us and came over to say hi to Goosey (which is what all the teachers call Lucy- Lucy Goosey or just Goosey) which was so much fun. Then, out of the blue a photographer for the Daily Oklahoma started taking pictures of Lucy Lu. He said he couldn't guarantee it would make the paper, but that she should be in there. I can't wait to see! We had such a fun time and it was so nice to spend it with my sister and adorable niece, Kaylee!

Cooking With Mommy

Earlier this week, Lucy went to bed around 7:30 just like normal. But, someone decided all she really needed was a little nap and was wide awake ready to go! So, we took advantage of it and played and played and then since she loves being in the kitchen with me I decided we would make some banana nut muffins for breakfast the next morning. She was such a good little helper and had so much fun playing with her kitchen tools. We are going to have so much fun making cupcakes, dinner for Daddy, all kinds of good stuff!

Allergies

Since Lucy was about 4-5 months old, she's had a cough and a running nose on and off. We've always wondered if she had allergies, but didn't really think babies could. But, it always seemed like every time my allergies would flare up she would start to have the same symptoms. Well, the past few nights have been pretty rough- she's been coughing/hacking and had a constant running nose all throughout the day. I decided enough was enough and took her in to the pediatrician to be evaluated for allergies. Sure enough, he said she definitely does. So, Lulu has to start a daily allergy medication just like Mommy which should take care of everything. Crazy, crazy Oklahoma weather.

In the Big Girl Bathtub

Lucy has started taking baths in the big girl bathtub and loves it! She was getting too big for her baby bathtub and was splashing so much that I was getting soaked. She loves getting to have all her toys in the bath with her, but her favorite things to play with are the shampoo bottle, body wash and bubble bath- of course.

Playing at the Park

Lucy had such a fun day today! Her favorite teacher was in her room today- Miss Autumn, so that always means Lulu will be super happy. She just loves her and so do we. It was such a beautiful day that they took the babies for a walk, which I'm sure Lucy loved. She's such an outdoor baby and has been since we brought her home from the hospital. When she was a newborn she would just love to sit out on our back patio. And, if all else failed and she was crying- going outside always helped. I can't wait for this summer...we are going to do so many fun things!

Once we all got home today, Carlos and I took Lucy across the street to the neighborhood park and let her swing for the first time, go down a slide (with our help of course) and just explore a little bit. She loved being outside, but wasn't 100% sure what to think about the swing. She definitely smiled, but it almost seemed to make her sleepy. Maybe the memories of her baby swing were coming back...oh how she loved that thing. Once we got home, she literally fell asleep in my arms sitting up. Such a fun day for her. I love you my little sweets.

Kiss Me!

Lucy got a sweet little outfit in the mail from her "Auntie" Nikki (Carlos' sister). This was the first time Lucy has worn jeans. Is that crazy of me? I don't really know why I've never put her in jeans before- I guess I thought she just wouldn't be that comfortable in them. Her wardrobe mostly consists of soft cotton dresses and little outfits with leggings. But, she did look pretty darn cute in them. She hasn't worn shoes for some time since it is about impossible for her to keep socks or shoes on, so I quit trying for a while. But, she really seemed to like these little red ones as you can tell by the photos. This is so exciting because I have some fun little shoes for her this summer.

Sweet Strawberry

Here are just a few random pictures of Lucy in action. Again, I couldn't get her to look at the camera. She is just too busy these days! I bought this little Strawberry outfit when I was pregnant thinking how sweet she would be in it this summer...well she is now wearing 12 months clothes! So, we've brought out a few summer outfits that she can just wear around the house and then a few that I can put a shirt under, a cardigan over or pair it with some leggings. Lessoned learned...don't try and buy clothes a full year ahead!

Boot Scootin' Lucy

Lucy has been scooting on her bottom for a while now and is getting pretty good at being able to get what we wants. She has to wind up before she starts scooting and it is hilarious! Here's a video from this weekend.

And She's Crawling...Backwards!

Lucy is crawling...only she's crawling backwards! How hilarious is that. She was doing it a few times where she would move from the top of her rug down to where she was going underneath her crib. By the time I thought about grabbing the camera, we had only started her half way on the rug. It was the funniest thing, only I'm sure she's going to get pretty frustrated here soon when she tries to get her toys and only ends up going further and further away from them. My sweet, funny baby girl. So proud of you Lulu and soon you'll be doing it going forwards too!

Date with Grammie

Lucy's Grammie came to Norman and spent the day with Lulu and me. We had such a good time. We started the day by going to a girly lunch at Fancy That. Lulu was so good and mostly enjoyed playing with the menu and being silly with Grammie. After lunch we ran around and did some shopping. Grammie went on a shopping spree for Lucy and basically purchased her entire Spring and Summer wardrobe, thanks Grammie and Papa! It was so nice not to have any plans, and just spend the day with the girls. I feel so blessed to have a mother that is not only an amazing mom to me, but such a good friend as well and now such a wonderful grandma to my sweet baby. Love you mom, thanks for spending the day with us!

Eight Months!

Happy Eight Months Lucy! This has been a pretty busy month and has seemed to absolutely fly by! Lucy has really started to form her personality these past few weeks and we are loving it! She's pretty independent and wants to try everything herself. If I try and put her hands on a toy to show her to use it, she will instantly pull them away and then try it herself. So hilarious...but, we might be in for it later. Haha! Oh and she got her third tooth yesterday as well. Poor baby was teething and cut her upper left canine. No pictures of it just yet, but I'll get a few soon.

Here is what she has been up to this past month:

• Now has three teeth!
• Is trying her hardest to crawl. She's been scooting around a bit on her bottom to get what she wants, and when she is on her tummy she stretches out so far but just can't quite make it all work together. I'm thinking she'll be crawling possibly within the next month.
• She's become pretty squirmy in our arms. Again, just wants down to explore but she doesn't realize she can't quite get to where she wants yet. Soon enough baby girl.
• Hates, hates rice. She never liked her rice cereal, but adores the oatmeal cereal. I tried giving her green beans mixed with rice and she instantly threw up! No gagging to try and show me she didn't like it, she just threw up. Enough said- she absolutely hates it.
• Had her first case of pink eye. Luckily, she got over it pretty quickly.
• Babbling like crazy and saying Dada, Dada constantly. Even though we know this isn't really her first word, I know Carlos is just eating it up!
• Can roll over from her back to her front and vice versa
• Started sleeping through the night (7:00p.m.- 5:30a.m.) up until the past week when she got sick and started teething again. Oh well, we had a few weeks of sleeping all night. I'm sure she'll do it again soon.
• Has quite the personality. She can be a little sassy and it's hilarious. She truly is the sweetest, loving little baby girl.
• Adores Reesie. They have become best friends and she laughs every time Reesie comes near her.
• Sleeps on her side every night now and looks like such a big girl.
