Life with Reesie

I finally watched Marley and Me the other night and of course bawled because it made me think of Reesie so much. Carlos and I didn't want to see it for forever, because we heard it had such a sad ending. But, when Carlos was gone I decided to go ahead and rent it and have a good cry. :) For those of you who don't know Reesie, she is our hyper and persistent, yet sweet and loving chocolate lab. We have gone through quite a lot with Reesie. As as a puppy, she chewed through drywall and ate the cords to our air conditioner just to name a few. As rough as it was having her as a puppy, she was just so adorable that we stuck with it. Although, I can't say that there weren't a few times where my patience was truly tested. She is four years old now, starting to get a little gray under her chin and has really come a long way! She's still a little hyper and persistent, but she is so sweet that you can't help to love her.

My patience has been tested again with Reesie once we had Lucy. She's been really good with Lucy and not licking her or bugging her too much, but her barking is another story. When we are gone at work, Reesie spends most of her days sitting at the dining room window, keeping a "look out". Since we live right across from the neighborhood park, she barks at squirrels, dogs, people running- you name it. Although I am glad she is such a good little watch dog, it can be extremely frustrating when I finally get Lucy down for a nap and Reesie starts barking and wakes her up! Thankfully though, I think Lucy is finally starting to get used to Reesie's barking and is starting to sleep through it all a little better. As frustrated as I've been with Reesie lately, watching Marley and Me made me stop and think what a sweet girl she really is and that we are all still adjusting to our new routines and life.

Reesie keeping watch.
Lucy napping in her swing in the living room.
She's really starting to grow so much that she
can finally wear a few more of her clothes.
Look how strong she is getting, the tummy time every
day is really paying off.
Another cute bow that my mom made for Lucy.
My happy morning baby.
