Gobble, Gobble...Our Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! My life is truly blessed and I have so very much to be thankful for; my sweet baby girl, amazing husband, loving family and fabulous friends. Love you all!

Love you Lucy Goose!

We headed to Carlos' cousin's house (Mindy and Chris) on Thanksgiving Day, celebrated Thanksgiving with my side of the family on Friday, then headed to Lawton on Saturday to see Nanny and I can't believe I didn't get a single picture from Nanny's house- just means I'll have to take extra at Christmas time.  It was a busy Thanksgiving break, but we absolutely enjoyed it!

Thursday: Thanksgiving with Carlos' side of the family
Look at my little stinker! We baked and baked and my little chef is getting pretty darn good at helping...well, when she isn't sneaking bites! She helped me bake a banana cream pie, pumpkin pie and chocolate cream pie this year. YUMMO!

Carlos and Lucy actually brought me breakfast in bed (waffles) on Thanksgiving morning, how sweet was that!?! Told you...so much to be thankful for.  Then, we watched the Macy's Day Parade and headed to Chris and Mindy's house!

Showing off one of our pies.

 Coloring with Baylee

Hi grandpa. Favorite picture of the two of them.

All the ladies in the kitchen!  LuLu, I hope you always know how much you are loved by both sides of our family. You are the center of all of our lives and we love you to pieces. Also, look in the background on the  fridge- picture of my baby girl (makes my heart smile).

Mindy and Chris recently built a gorgeous home on some farm land and have a horse named Trigger that Lucy was so excited to see.  She helped Mindy get the food to feed Trigger...

but, when it came time to actually go in and feed him she just let Mindy do that part and kept a safe distance. ;)

Playing ping pong with the boys.

Friday: Thanksgiving at our house
Since Lucy was old enough to sit at the kid table this year, I thought I'd try and do something fun and special for all of them.  I am eternally thankful for these sweet babies. I love you all so very much...more than words could ever say.

Lucy had a blast making these turkey's out of pine cones.

I even got them some fancy crystal glasses (a.k.a. plastic glasses). They all loved these, especially Kaylee.

Since Lucy kept thinking we were having a thankful party, we made favors- ha! And, in a way it was a thankful party so good thinking Luz. You can never go wrong with a little parting gift! ;)

Jack spent a lot of time at the island making cheese and crackers

Kaylee ate about two pounds of tomatoes

So, I'm going to toot my own horn here...isn't this fun? My very first bread cornucopia, I was pretty proud of it.

 LuLu and her Aunt Kissy

When Grammie heard about Lucy's Thankful Turkey at school (about how she was thankful for cupcakes), she just had to bring LuLu some special cupcakes. Is she loved or what?

Don't be fooled by this picture.  Lucy started out at the kid table, but ended up in my lap about two minutes after we all sat down.

 Digging in!

Even my Uncle Joe and Billy came!

While Lucy napped, the boys played football

Kaylee and I had a mini photo session.  Such a sweet and pretty thang!

SO VERY THANKFUL.

This post warmed my heart so very much. I too love that picture of Lucy with Grandpa Rodriguez, well, all the pictures! :)
You definitely are a blessed woman/family and I am so happy to see how much so!
As I read I saw that you referred to Lucy as Luz...in Spanish Luz means light...she is the light in your eyes! I thought you chose quite an appropriate name for your sweet Lulu.
As someone who didn't get to be with both sides of my family as much as you all get to I have to say you ARE all blessed to be so close to one another and I think it's wonderful that you host gatherings as much as possible.
You're one of my wife/mommy role models! One day I'll be as great a chef too!
Love you all tons.

Mayra, Mayra...that was such a sweet comment. And, yes Luz Celena is Carlos' Nanny's true name but everyone has always called her Luz"C" which is where we got Lucy. I love that it means light and Carlos loves when I call her Luz. ;) I feel honored that I'm one of you wife/mommy role models, means a lot- especially since I don't feel like I have it together half the time, ha! You are already an amazing wife and will for sure be an amazing mommy. You have so much warmth and love for those around you and we all absolutely adore you. Thank you again for such a sweet comment. XOXO

Amanda-You really need to quit your day job, go into event/party planning and you will be set!! You are so talented! You can tell you love doing it also. (very impressed by the bread cornucopia)

Lucy is my favorite baby, I truly love her bunches. If she would just let me, I would scoop her up and just keep squeezing her! I am ready to have her at ANYTME, all you have to do is let me know. Love you all-Mindy
