Lucy will be starting her new school the week of August 8th and we couldn't be more excited! My employer, Chesapeake Energy, has decided to open a state of the art children's development center that will literally be across the street from my office! As sad as we are to leave Lucy's current school that she's been at since she was 12 weeks old, we are unbelievably excited for this new change for our family. More to come on all the amazing things this school will be offering! We all feel so fortunate that Lucy will get to spend a few years here! The weekend that we got back from vacation, the school hosted a painting party for all the kids to come and paint artwork to hang in the new facility. It was in the Chesapeake Fitness Center and Lucy loved it! She painted not one painting, but three!!! We can't wait until she starts school and will get to see her very own paintings displayed on the walls, so much fun!
I only brought my phone to take pictures with, so not the best looking pictures. My model was also a little sleepy from our long trip, but I didn't want her to miss such a fun event and to be able to see her art once she starts school!
This was her first painting that will be hung in the Sniffles and Snuggles room. It will be the play room where the little ones go that are not feeling well and are waiting for their parents to come pick them up. There will be an onsite nurse in this room caring for them as well. Probably my favorite thing about the new center.
One of the helpers at the Fitness Center asked Lucy what her favorite color was and I was so proud of her, she actually told her yellow! So, they gave us yellow and picked turquoise and white for her as well, which she turned mostly into green.
Isn't it gorgeous, Momma loves it!
I even let her paint her shirt, she thought I was crazy and just kept staring at it!
Her last picture she helped with. She painted this one with about six other big kids. Lucy contributed to the dark green at the very bottom.
