Miss Lucy Brooke is officially 18 months old...holy cow! She has been doing so many new things in these past three months, but especially in this last month. I feel like you have definitely turned into a little toddler this past month and have really figure more of yourself out. You have so much control over your little body and are talking like crazy. Since Carlos and I have had quite a bit of time off this month, we thought it might be a good time to try and revisit giving up the paci's. She hasn't had one (except for naps and bedtime) in two weeks...this is MAJOR. As soon as she wakes up in the morning she drops the paci's that she holds in each hand and then spits out the one in her mouth and says "Bye-bye, paaaasss" (for paci). I'm so proud of my big girl! Hopefully she'll do just as well at daycare as she has at home. There is still one little boy in her class that has his paci, so I hope she doesn't try to steal his...we shall see!
Yesterday, Carlos and I both got to take Lucy to her 18 month checkup at Dr. Wilson's and she did great! She had so much fun playing with all the toys in the waiting room and was such a big girl sitting in the exam room. She definitely cried pretty hard when it came time for the shots, but the sucker made everything better. Carlos and I have really noticed that she has started to slim down a bunch and her stats now prove it. For the first time, she isn't both 95-97% in her length and weight and looking at these pictures- her belly seems so much smaller too. I'm not ready for her to start loosing all those rolls. I love my little chubbers. Happy 18th months sweet girl, here's what you're up to:
- You are talking constantly and saying so many new words that I can't even keep track. My favorite things you say right now are help, stuck, please and I love you. I think you can probably say somewhere around 20 words now.
- You love saying or should I say almost yelling "Hi" to everyone! Everyone at restaurants, people driving by us in their cars, and everyone we pass at the grocery store (which by the time we leave, you probably say it about 50 times...no exaggerating). However, if someone actually stops to try and talk to you, you get a little shy. You just want them to say hi to you and keep on going, haha. It takes you a good 10 minutes or so to warm up to people, but once you do- you are such a silly goose.
- You are so silly and I love how you try to make us laugh now and how much you crack yourself up.
- You dance ALL the time. You can't hear any type of music without busting a move.
- You love ordering Reesie around and mimic me by saying "No, No Dawww" and pointing your finger at her.
- Wearing size 24 mos- 2T clothes, size 5 diapers and size 5 shoes.
- You are such a little love bug and we are eating it up. You love to give Mommy and Daddy hugs and kisses, which are so much fun.
- You adore babies right now. You have about four and you are crazy about all of them. You have a special baby that stays in each of our cars and then the babies that you play with in the house. You can be a little rough with them (which cracks me up), but you mostly hug and kiss on them and make them dance. You're such a sweet little Momma to them.
- You are still such a good little eater and are finally eating meats a little better. You love ranch right now, so if I want you to eat something that normally isn't your favorite thing- I just put a little ranch on it and you gobble it up.
- You really are such a sweet little girl, but you definitely have a stubborn side to you and I'm getting little glimpses of your temper. However, you haven't had a huge tantrum yet. Knock on wood, I know the day is coming.
- You know so many animals and the noises they make. You know several dance moves to your favorite songs (Wheels on the Bus, Itsy Bitsy, Jingle Bells, Patty Cake, Row Row Your Boat and your favorite right now- If Your Happy and You Know It).
- You are getting so good at your little wooden puzzles and I love watching to concentrate so hard, it's absolutely precious.
- You still LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to cook. But, Mommy is going to have one huge left arm by the end of this year. You insist that I hold you and just want right in the middle of whatever I'm cooking or baking. I don't want you to grow up at all, but I am looking forward to cooking with both hands again and just having you on a stool by my side, haha.
- I truly feel closer to you than ever and I hope that only continues to grow. You truly are my best friend LuLu and are turing into quite the precious little toddler.
Your Stats:
Weight: 28 lbs. 4 oz (90%)
Length: 33.5 inches (95%)

As soon as I sat you down, you started pulling out all of the toys!

Running to your Daddy, being silly!

She had to get all dolled up to go see the doctor.

Lucy was mesmerized by this thing.

Ok...pause. How big does she look here? She's just chillin' reading a book and waiting on the doctor.

She was saying and pointing to the tree and butterfly on the wall.

Dr. Wilson's sweet PA actually saw you today. You were talking to her, telling her we were your Mommy and Daddy.

Post shots. You were not a happy camper, but the sucker definitely helped.

We went to Braum's to grab breakfast and you actually sat in a booster and did so well!

Such a big girl, love you Luc!

Time flies, doesn't it?! Way to go on the paci thing. Colin is 3 1/2 and I still can't get him to take his thumb out. At least you can throw the paci away!
Miss Lucy is getting so big and of course she's still completely adorable! I'm sure it is so fun to hear her start talking too. It's so bittersweet...so exciting to see them grow but so sad their no longer a baby.
I love the post shots pic with the lollipop! Can't say it enough...precious family. Lucy is going to grow up to be a lovely little lady.
