Seven Months

Today Lucy Brooke is seven months old! We had an ice storm that started on Thursday and have been stuck inside for three days now. We all have a bit of cabin fever, but we are all enjoying this long weekend together. I've cleaned, cooked, napped and played and plan on maybe watching a few movies tonight with Carlos once Lucy goes to bed. I've taken almost every one of Lucy's naps with her and I'm not embarrassed to admit it. I love just the quietness of laying next to my baby girl even if I can't sleep. I love how she snuggles up so close to me on her side and places both of her hands on my face, almost to make sure I don't go anywhere. But how could I go anywhere? Then, when she wakes up she starts jabbering a million miles an hour. I could go on and on about how much I love my Lulu, my seven month old Lulu. Ahhhh.

Here is what Lucy is doing this month:
  • Got her first tooth (lower central incisor)
  • Sitting up so well and stretching forward to grab things
  • Can put her paci in her mouth on her own (most of the time)
  • Wearing size 3 diapers, size 9 months in clothes and is getting ready to move into 12 months!
  • Has a little thicker hair and can wear a tiny bow in it
  • Saying da-da-da quite a bit and although we would like to think this is her first word, she isn't associating Carlos with it just yet. So, I think it's still just babbling- but it could still end up being her first word. I think it's going to be da-da, puppy, or Hi since it seems like I say those to her often.
  • Loves all of her baby food, although we learned our lesson with prunes (sorry baby). She's also started eating yogurt and loves it as well.
  • Can hold herself up on her belly for a long time now without getting fussy. She's also kicking her legs a lot and will stretch out and reach to get something, but still no crawling. I have a feeling it will be pretty soon though.
I've kept Lucy in comfy PJ's for the past two days, but her Daddy decided she needed to feel pretty and wear a dress. I totally agree and I think I might actually blow my hair dry today and put on some semi-normal clothes (instead of my sweats and t-shirt). A girl just can't go too long without feeling pretty. :) Here are a couple pictures of Lucy from this morning and some pictures of the ice storm.

She's so sassy!! Happy 7 months :) I'm glad to see you all made it through the storm and that you had a forced vacation ;)

Much love from Dallas!
