Carlos Turns 30!

Carlos turned the Big 30 on Friday and we celebrated all weekend! I acted like I was going to work Friday morning and still let Carlos take Lucy to daycare that morning, just like a normal day. When really I just went to the grocery store to get the supplies for the surprise b-day party Lucy and I were going to throw him and then just went and picked Lucy back up. Carlos' sweet boss helped me make the entire surprise a success and let him have the afternoon off. So, when Carlos got home Lucy and I were all ready to surprise him with our first little family birthday party. We had such a good day and Carlos loved it all!

Then on Saturday we had a birthday party with a few friends at our house. Lucy stayed with my parents...her first overnight stay. I really, really did not want to leave her- but knew she was in great hands at my parents (even though I still called quite a few times, I just couldn't help it). We had such a wonderful "adult night" and it was great hanging out with some friends. I hope you had a great weekend honey, Lucy and I love you so much!

Lucy and Carlos when he first got home for work. Lucy and I made him a completely from scratch birthday cake. It wasn't that pretty, but Carlos said it tasted great.

Lucy in her party hat. She had just woken up, but was still ready to party!

Family picture right after our b-day party.

Carlos and I at his birthday party on Saturday night. We had a great time even though OU lost. So sad.

The random assortment of food. I decided to make all of Carlos' favorite (minus fried potatoes, ha!) 7-layer dip, white and milk chocolate pretzels, chicken fingers and pasta salad and "30" cookies from Eileen's Cookies.

The yummy Eileen's cookies...I had way, way too many of these.
